How Often To Visit A Chiropractor

by Clifford Ramos

You may have heard that visiting a chiropractor like those at the Gehrig Family Chiropractic Center is good for you, but you may not know how often you need to visit. Of course, this all depends on your body. For example, if you suffer from serious pain because of an injury you endured, then you may want to visit your chiropractor more often than someone who only sees a chiropractor to help with preventative issues. Here's what to know about visiting a chiropractor:

  • Suffering from Serious Pain: If you are enduring serious pain from an injury like whiplash or because you have scoliosis, then you will want to see your chiropractor at least twice a week. Over time, the number of appointments can be decreased, depending upon how well your body responds to the treatment. If you aren't noticing any changes after the first couple weeks, then you may want to seek out a different chiropractor to help you. This is because different chiropractors have different methods of treatment, so it is possible that you will respond better to a different type of treatment.
  • Everyday Pain: If you suffer from everyday pain in your neck or back from sitting at a computer at work all day, then you will want to see a chiropractor to help treat this pain by signing up for a few sessions that happen once a week. Once the everyday pain has been treated, then you can simply visit the chiropractor whenever you feel like you need an adjustment.
  • Preventative Care: If you simply want to visit a chiropractor because you believe that they can provide you with necessary preventative care, then you can visit anywhere from once a month to two times a year. You may want to speak with your chiropractor to determine which is best for you. Your chiropractor may have suggestions based on your exercise habits, work environment, and more. For example, if you are someone who works a desk job and doesn't exercise that often, then your chiropractor may suggest more visits than they would to someone who doesn't work and exercises regularly.

By knowing when the right time to visit your chiropractor would be, you can be sure that you are more likely to see the best possible results from their treatment methods. You must remember that everyone is different and your body will respond differently then others, so it is important to take your chiropractor's advice based on their evaluation of your body specifically.

About Me

Powerful Physical Therapy

I was badly injured a year ago, and it took a long time to get back to my normal level of ability. One of the things that helped more than anything was the time that I spent in physical therapy. I didn’t always love going to physical therapy – in fact, sometimes, I really didn’t enjoy it at all. But ultimately, the therapists and other patients I worked with helped inspire me to get better, and the exercises facilitated my healing process. I started this blog to talk about all of the things I learned about physical therapy and healing during my recovery time. I hope my blog reaches other accident victims. I want to offer encouragement, hope, and information for people who are in the same boat that I was in.
