Tips For Helping Reduce Your Erectile Dysfunction Without Medication

by Clifford Ramos

If you are an older man who has started to experience some difficulties with erectile dysfunction, then you may be embarrassed about the ailment. However, you should know that the problem affects a great deal of older men. Medication often works to treat the issue, but you may want to try a more natural type of treatment first. So, what can you do? Keep reading to find out.

Exercise

While erectile dysfunctions is something that affects men as they age, it is often related to the cardiovascular system. Basically, not enough blood is flowing to the penis to encourage an erection. Peripheral blood flow, like the type that is needed for an erection, becomes compromised due to certain lifestyle habits. If you eat a diet that is high in fat and if you have developed a more sedentary regimen, then blood cannot reach the lower part of the body as easily as it once did.

To help encourage blood flow to all regions of the body, you should begin an exercise regimen. You want a regimen that will enhance your cardiovascular health and the efficiency and strength of your heart. Any exercise that elevates your heart rate for 30 minutes or more at a time is called cardiovascular exercise, and the more exercise you do, the stronger your heart will become. So, consider running, swimming, cycling, or using an exercise machine. You want to do this daily or every other day.

If exercise helps your situation, then you should be able to see good results fairly quickly. In other words, you will see erections returning to normal within a few weeks or a few months.

Investigate Your Medications

You may not know that the medications you take may be causing your erectile dysfunction. Specifically, the issue may be a side effect of one of your essential medications. This is common of certain high blood pressure medications, antihistamines, hormonal drugs, NSAIDs, corticosteroids, and opiate pain relievers.

Additionally, certain legal and illegal substances can cause an erectile issue and include alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamines, and barbiturates. So, if you take any illegal or legal drugs, you should go over the substances to see if they could potentially be causing an issue.

Your doctor can help you to find a different prescription if your medicines are causing the ED, so think about any new medicines and how the dysfunction may have come on as soon as you started the drug.

Of course, if you think it is one of the non-prescription substances you are taking, then stop using it to see if the problems becomes better for you. Talk to a company like Nova Health Therapy for more help.

About Me

Powerful Physical Therapy

I was badly injured a year ago, and it took a long time to get back to my normal level of ability. One of the things that helped more than anything was the time that I spent in physical therapy. I didn’t always love going to physical therapy – in fact, sometimes, I really didn’t enjoy it at all. But ultimately, the therapists and other patients I worked with helped inspire me to get better, and the exercises facilitated my healing process. I started this blog to talk about all of the things I learned about physical therapy and healing during my recovery time. I hope my blog reaches other accident victims. I want to offer encouragement, hope, and information for people who are in the same boat that I was in.
